Monday Night Football (MNF) is the weekly broadcast of a National Football League (NFL) game on ESPN and ABC. The specific game generating the search interest was the matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals, a high-profile game in the NFL's Week 9 schedule.
The search term spiked because a major carriage dispute between YouTube TV and Disney (which owns ESPN and ABC) resulted in Disney-owned channels being blacked out for roughly 10 million YouTube TV subscribers on the night of the MNF game. This forced a massive number of users to search for alternative streaming or cable access options.
The primary view among impacted users was frustration and anger at being caught in the middle of a contract dispute between large corporations, for a service they had already paid for. Fans scrambled to find alternatives, such as using an antenna, switching to other streaming services like Fubo or Sling TV, or signing up for free trials.
